Shoe Lickers... whats the deal yo?

It seams to be a popular passtime that defies all logical reasoning, this act of licking ones own shoe. Does anybody know the orgins of this ungodly action. I've come to conclusion that this action is to represent one of the following scenerios.

1. The shoe is brand new and therefor so fresh that one would lick the bottom side of the shoe to prove the shoe in question is indeed new.

2. A motion of love one has for said shoe to be licked acting on a deep physicolgical shoe fetish. "The guy must really like his kicks he's got his mouth wrapped around em' like he's getting paid to do it"

3. A notion from early childhood; if we lick something it ours. To claim ownership of said shoe in question as to let others know that indeed your the owner of the shoe incase they had any question to that effect.

4. Some popular iconic figure has done this in the media that has caused a whole new wave of copy-cat shoe lickers accross the world to that I for whatever reason failed to pick up on... Why has nobody informed me of this?


If you know the orgins please let me know so I can close this case and move on to ponder other questionable practices ever so popular in today's generation.

me personally, i dont lick my shoes. thats for hypebeasts and is so fucking corny to me. and it stemmed from Fat Joe doing it on a episode of MTV Cribs a few years ago where he was showing off his sneaker collection. Basically he was saying the shoes are so clean and brand new that you can lick the bottom of them without worry. every since then it has been a mass epidemic.

It's true fat joe started it. but for me its also reasons 1 to 4 plus I'm a big fan of Joe, matter of fact I used to get called fat joe when I was younger
