thanks bro! yeah theyre the Barracuda fit, which is their Straight leg fit (very similar to Levi 501s). True Religion has some decent denim but I hate their fit (wide flare around the cuffs and a super long inseam). Not to mention True Religion's stitching just looks downright tacky. I'll probably wear my dark wash wash pair this weekend and post them.

missunderstood416  (2 years ago)prps is dope ass denim, good quality not over hyped like true religion (although true religion is pretty nice quality) they mentioned them on how to make it in america the first season. Great fit btw

simply put, theyre made with alot more care and quality than Akademiks. for starters, they have some of the best and most realistic washes you'll ever find. all PRPS jeans are made from organic Zimbabwe cotton (the softest cotton in the world) and constructed in Japan. And there's so much detail on each pair, such as different colored fly buttons, folded back pockets, selvage (on some pairs, high quality leather tag, and snaps around the west to adjust the fit. Theyre the go-to jeans of David Beckham and have been seen on many people such as Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Halle Berry, Jay-Z, and Christian Bale. In short, Akademiks would be a 300C of denim and PRPS would be the Phantom on denim.

If had some on few years ago, instead of coping new ones get them alter. It can save you $ and you can use that $ to cop new sneakers. What so special about their quality to cost up to a thousand? What make their quality different from original Akademiks?

Whats crazy is that most of their jeans in their old days have never been too baggy, which I like. I had a few pairs from 2003-2006 and they had a nice fit. I wish they would be really creative with the Stadium line like they used to. On the plus side, their cardigans for the fall look very classy.

Yeah their denim is always on point, but their other designs are okay. Akademiks is not played out to me though. I have a coat I wear from them.

If I had my way (as company) with Akademiks, I cancel the other designs and focus on denim designs in bottoms, jackets, etc. I originally wanted to design for fashion but I switch to marketing in general. That urban company logos is played.

Really? I don't think theyre going out on business. In fact, I just went to their website and they have the 2011 fall collection for sale on their site. In fact, Im surprised that they still have the Stadium line.

It's sad that Akademiks denim get slept on and I think they going out of business. When I bought my Akademiks outfit in 2009 & the coat in 2010. I went to the site recently, they still have the same things on sale. I like that their jeans are creative and more of a mid rise.

thats right Steve, we bring that Iller Noise! lol and thanks aplenty Nesh! Yes PRPS was founded by the designer who started Akademiks. funny fact: when PRPS first started out, their jeans actually had both Akademiks AND PRPS logos. One of my pairs, which is a early sample pair, is like that. I guess when people tried calling it the new Akademiks is when they ditched the logos and started just using the PRPS logos.

I just notice the denim, that s--- is fresh! Is Prps was founded by Akademiks designer?

@ javarevamp: nigga please. this jacket is smooth as a Armani tux. you wouldnt be able to tell it was Rocawear even if in person because it doesn't have all those tacky "R" logos all over it.

Yessir, Kings and Raiders gear all day! Yeah the jeans are loose fitting but most of PRPS's distressed jeans fit that way. Theyre great quality though (they should since their jeans start at $300 retail and can cost up to $1000 depending on the model)
